OWEN DYKSTRA PE - principal
Director of Engineering
Owen is responsible for managing and overseeing all engineering and planning department functions. Owen has extensive engineering and technical and regulatory knowledge of land development and land use planning issues. Owen graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Owen has prepared site plans for projects ranging from single family dwellings to large-scale mixed use developments. Owen has comprehensive knowledge of site layout, grading, drainage design, water quality analysis, individual subsurface sewerage disposal systems, Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act Rules, Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules, and Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act Rules. Owen has prepared site plans for single & multi-family residences, shopping centers, banks, medical complexes, office complexes, senior housing complexes and industrial buildings. Owen has prepared subdivision plans ranging from minor subdivisions to major subdivisions of large communities.
As president of Dykstra Associates, Owen has provided expert testimony regarding site planning, drainage systems, water quality and development impacts. Owen has been qualified as an expert witness before numerous land use boards throughout Northern New Jersey.
DOUGLAS DYKSTRA PLS, PP - principal
Director of Surveying
Douglas is responsible for managing and overseeing all survey department functions. Douglas has over twenty-six years of experience surveying in Northern New Jersey and has extensive technical knowledge and experience managing complex workloads and critical timelines.
Douglas has specialized in large tract surveys and land development construction layout for commercial and residential projects. He has prepared surveys ranging from small lot surveys to tract surveys of 2,000 acres. Additionally, Douglas has provided expert testimony regarding site planning, subdivisions and development impacts and has been qualified as an expert witness before numerous land use boards throughout the area.
jason dunn lla, pp - pRInCIPAL
Director of Landscape Architecture and Planning
Jason is the project manager and land use planner for a variety of projects that include school campuses and athletic fields, senior citizen and mixed-income residential sites, solar energy production fields, and large- scale commercial developments. He provides expert testimony to land use boards throughout Northern New Jersey for Variances and Site Plans. Jason is a landscape architect licensed in NJ, NY, and PA and a licensed professional planner. Jason has a degree in Forestry from Paul Smiths College of the Adirondacks, and a B.S. in Environmental Planning and Design from Rutgers University.
His career started in Laguna Beach, CA, where he worked on designs for high-end hotels and resorts. He then moved back to New Jersey and took a position with Kinsey Associates, a firm specializing in the design of parks and recreational areas for municipalities all over the state. For 6 years, Jason worked with a municipal engineer for several towns in Sussex County. There, he continued in public parks design, worked with NJDOT projects, analyzed land development applications, and conducted construction observation. He has been working with Dykstra Associates since 2006. Jason enjoys being a part of site design implementation that enhances the visual environment, culminates social interaction, and functions well to suite the client’s needs.
MICHAEL DRELICH
Office Manager
Michael Drelich has substantial experience in all aspects of the firm’s day to day operations and is extensively familiar with technical and regulatory issues and land use procedures.
Michael is responsible for coordinating the tasks of the various departments as well as functioning as the primary client contact. He also handles cost estimating, proposals, contract administration, business development, account management, workflow monitoring, process improvement programs, IT management and vendor contact.
